Color Nexus - Privacy Statement

Color Nexus gathers two types of information about users:

1. Data provided when customers register for our applications, services or news and,
2. Data derived by agregate page views throughout out site.

This information enables us to better tailor our content to each viewer's needs, to better understand the demographics of our customers, and to continually improve our Web site to meet the needs of our customers.

Color Nexus gathers customer data through several channels:

Registration

During registration for our products or other services, the user is required to supply a subscriber name, occupation, e-mail address and company name, as well as other information. We use this information to contact the user about services on our site for which he has expressed interest.

Usage Tracking/Cookies/Clear gifs

Color Nexus collects certain aggregate data called Web log information for statistical purposes and uses cookies when you visit some of our Web pages. For instance, when you visit our Web site, our Web server may automatically recognize some non-personal information, including, but, not limited to the date and time you visit our site and the pages from our server that you already visited.

Neither our cookies nor Web log information collects any personal information. They do not contain personal information such as your name or e-mail address and are used mainly for statistical analysis purposes and to enhance and enrich your experience through our site.

ColorNexus.com uses cookies when you register as a ColorNexus.com customer to store a unique, random user ID. Neither passwords nor customer personal information is stored in the cookies by our servers. You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser without impeding the navigation through our site. However some of the advanced options may not be available or features that were designed to help you while navigating through our site may be disabled. By setting a cookie on our site, users would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If users reject the cookie, they may still use our site. The only drawback to this is that the user will be limited in some areas of our site. For example, the user will not be able to participate in any of our sweepstakes, contests or monthly drawings that may take place. Persistent cookies enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site.

We employ a software technology called clear gifs, that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. The main difference between the two is that clear gifs are invisible on the page and are much smaller, about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. Clear gifs are not tied to users' personally identifiable information. In addition, we may use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by the recipients.

Employment Information

Personal information you may submit in connection with employment inquiries will be used only for recruitment and future internal consideration. It will be accessible solely by persons responsible for recruitment for ColorNexus.com entities. This information will be kept no longer than 2 years.

Advertising

We may send you email communications including information that we may think may be of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving these email communications either when wou register to become a member, or by sending a message through our contacts. We do not send any of your Personally Identifiable Information to our advertisers. You may see a cookie from a third-party banner server, and this cookie comes from the third-party banner server, not ColorNexus.com. Again, we do not pass along any Personally Identifiable Information to this party.

We send all new members a welcoming email to verify password and username. Established members will occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals, and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications. Please see the Correct/Update sections.

We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account we reply via email or phone, in accordance with the users wishes.

Co-Branded Services

ColorNexus.com enters into co-branding relationships with third-party web sites and companies to provide products and services to our users. ColorNexus.com may share your personally identifiable information, including User ID and password, with certain co-branded third-party service or product providers as required to provide a specific product or service that you request from a co-branded page or co-branded site. However, these third-party partners may not use this information for any reason other than to provide the service or product that you have explicitly signed up for.

Children's Privacy

ColorNexus.com believes that it's especially important to protect children's privacy online and encourages parents and guardians to spend time online with their children to participate and monitor their Internet activity. ColorNexus.com respects all applicable national and international children's privacy regulations, to the best of our knowledge and abilities. All site content is constantly and carefully monitored and is clasified as safe to be viewed or read by children of any age.

Security

We will use commercially reasonable methods to keep personally identifiable information securely in our files and systems. When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or social security number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when users are just 'surfing'.

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. Our employees must use password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter their password to re-gain access to user information. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Every six months, as well as any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our users' information is protected.
